Do you know what causes high cholesterol?

Many are the causes that produce  increased cholesterol or will undermine efforts to reduce it, even without knowing,. Here are some that you have to consider: smoking, caffeine, stress, medicines, refined sugar, food additives, pollutants in the environment.
If you are worried about your cholesterol, you probably know that a turkey lunch meat is a good choice. But keep in mind that 100 g lean ground turkey contains approximately 67 mg cholesterol, while the same amount of fatty meat contains 75 mg and a cup of turkey liver pate will provide about 830 mg!

Is there any difference between hyperlipidemia and hypercholesterolemia?

Yes there is, unfortunately, in terms of heart disease risk, the difference is small. Hyperlipidemia refers to elevated levels of all blood fats, cholesterol while only involve high amounts of cholesterol. But the health of the body, the problem is purely semantic.

On some products it sais they are - low in fat - and others - "low in cholesterol" -. Is there any difference between these two forms?

You can be sure it is! In fact, a product whose label says "no cholesterol" may contain plenty of fat. Be aware that the terms "cholesterol" and "fat" are not synonymous. Unlike fat, cholesterol is not used for energy production, but primarily to carry fat into the cells throughout the body.

In terms of cholesterol reduction, which is the difference between monounsaturated and polyunsaturated oils?
Polyunsaturated oils (sunflower, corn, safflower, soy) reduce the level of both types of cholesterol - both the "bad" (LJD) and the "good" (LID). Monounsaturated oils (olive, peanut) lowers levels of "bad" cholesterol and also increase the amount of "good" cholesterol. But medical authorities seem to have reached a consensus on the best oils and, therefore, recommends using both types.
